Bill Doubleu is a pen name, pronounced "Bill W" -- "Bill W" speaks to anonymity which at this point seems fitting. A summary statement of anyone’s life is “been here and there, done this and that”.

 

     I’ve lived and worked in Alaska and California as a commercial fisherman, a United Auto Worker and a landscaper in L.A., partnered in a small handcrafted art-nouveau enterprise in South Lake Tahoe. I’ve dealt poker, worked in security, and been a chauffeur, ski instructor, and garbage man. I’ve studied and practiced psychotherapy. I’ve possessed and lost a small fortune.

 

     I’ve spent a lifetime studying psychology, philosophy, and the religions of Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, and Christianity. I’ve studied eclectic teachings of yoga, chi gong, and other ‘energy’ healing. I’ve lived on formal ashrams- an ashram is a monastery,  for 14 years in California, Hawaii, and The Fiji Islands.

 

     I’ve been hit by a car, broke a leg, almost got killed fishing, lived through a ruptured appendix, had heart surgery, and had a brain operation. I’m familiar with pain, death, and the broken heart.

 

     I’ve rubbed elbows with life from high to low and seen countless beautiful sunrises and sunsets among the wonders of nature. I’m 71 years old, seasoned, well-worn with high mileage.

 

     My life is filled with happiness and love. The last leg of this life has landed me in a wonderful circumstance. Married, in love, and living on a wonderful property. I believe I possess a working understanding of what makes life tick and how to make it tick better.

 

     I feel I understand what is beyond our mortal condition. I’ve discovered the value of serving others. I write, practice esoteric yoga, work on cars, bake, cook, watch too much TV and engage in artistic pursuits. I study the Teachings of Adi Da, astrology, poker, history, food, and a host of other facets of life.

 

    I don't come from any 'up on high', just reporting in with just the facts.
